The Final Countdown...

Well we maybe are not heading to venus, but alot of members of Americas Cup teams have now, or are still, decending on Auckland, the so-called 'City of Sail's' for the inaugural Louis Vuitton Pacific Series as most of you would know who are reading this, is happening in Auckland, New Zealand this summer, a joint venture between Emirates Team New Zealand, The RNZYS & Various other sponsors, to get the guys back out sailing, in a competition while Alinghi continues its ever killing grip on the Americas Cup (hey, its my blog, Ill say what I like!).
Anyhow, just to let you know, I am teamnz from Sailing Anarchy forums, born & bred in Auckland, here to post this blog to you all, either in Auckland or overseas, a 'ground level' account on the day to day happenings in the Viaduct Harbour & the Gulf, leading up to the start of the event, as well as during the event races & after partys!
Ill be posting here every day or other day, news, picstures, anything I can find that is of interest to anyone & not blown up by the media. I am a fan, a spectator, a sailor, a kiwi, so in all, I think you will find a pretty well rounded view of what is happening here right in the middle of Summer in Auckland!
Today's news? Well last I heard, both BMW Oracle boats have headed out into the harbour for presumably another shakedown sail while the 2 ETNZ boats are in the shed.
Interesting note that is NZL-20 - The coverted 'Red Sled' from the 1992 New Zealand Challenge for the Americas Cup is going to be out sailing around while the event is going on. This is great! AC History is everywhere in Auckland!
Check out items on Trademe.co.nz that are being listed, all sorts of AC things.
Emirates Team NZ new uniforms go on sale this FRIDAY on the webstore & in shops so I have been informed by Line7 so watch out there!
More news by the day. Anyhow, have a look at this fab pic of the Emirates Team NZ Base full of Americas Cup Class yachts taken in the last day or so.
Ciao 4 Now!
