Time for a rest, not for Team NZ's boats!

Hello all! Back at the viaduct again this morning to see what was happening...not alot apart from alot of people running around. The BMW Oracle boats were high & dry on the dock with scaffold & shore crew scurrying around, mainly putting on new logos on the boom. Both the Team New Zealand boats were in the water, being prepared by the shore crew ready for a sail.
The Louis Vuitton Pacific Series banners are all in place down Fanshawe St with another banner 'Its ALL on in Auckland', which for once, they are right. It is, we have the Millenium Cup, BMW Regatta, Anniversary Regatta, LVPS obviously & thats just sailing. This summer there is so much things goin on in Auckland that you would have a hard time thinking we were all in this so called 'recession'.
The LVPS signage has gone up over the old Alinghi base where all the LVPS communication & things will be happening from. Nice touch to an old pink base that used to house the arch rivals!
Both teams were out on the water today, with BMW Oracle Skipper Russell Coutts taking helm of one of the kiwi boats (oh dont we wish he was sailing for us!) and ETNZ taking their other boat out for some inhouse shakedowns. Checkout Chris Camerons gallery for some spectacular on the water action shots!
NZL-20 - The old 'Red Sled' from the 1992 New Zealand Challenge for the Americas Cup is now in the water, ready for next Monday's regatta. Doesnt she look amazing! I only wish they could bring KZ-7 down for a sail!
